On Friday the promotion blog-tour for
Cécile Trenini new book "daily Beauty" (
C&T Publishing) started and she invited me to write about it.
I like the idea of using daily things like cotton pads and the rule everything is possible! Cécile has done 365 different ways to use them.
Am Freitag hat die Promotion für
Cécile Trentini's neues Buch "daily Beauty" (erschienen beim C&T Publishing Verlag) mit einer Blog Tour begonnen. Sie hat mich angefragt, ob ich sie auf dieser Tour unterstützen will und ich habe spontan zugesagt. Cécile hat 365 verschiedene Möglichkeiten ausprobiert um Baumwoll-Wattepads in kleine Quiltblocks zu integrieren.

Ich finde die Idee spannend, Alltagsdinge zu verwenden und dass alles möglich ist. So habe ich die Hüllen von Schokotrüffes (doch nicht ganz so alltäglich ;-)) gesammelt und versucht, diese als meine "Beauties" zu verwenden:

Die Papierhüllen von den Schokotrüffes liessen sich nicht ganz so gut mit der Maschine nähen wie von Hand besticken. Mir hat das Buch gezeigt, dass auch mit ungewöhnlichen Alltagsdingen interessante Oberflächen gestaltet werden können.
The paper wrapping was not as easy to stitch with the machine as quilted by hand. The book "daily Beauty" opened my eyes for ordinary daily things to incorporate onto stitched surfaces.
